Description
In this tutorial we will learn to play jazz lead lines in the style of Joe Pass. We will learn how to solo over standard jazz chords using chord tones as arpeggios and scales as linear lines. Then we will combine these two approaches and play them over a backing track.
We take two approaches to building lead lines: chord tones and scale notes. We will play them separately as an exercise to build our knowledge about them and skill playing them. Then we will combine them together to build actual licks to play in a swing 1/8th note rhythm over a jazz chord progression.
